Plant Trees
Claim Your Tree
Every year on ARBOR DAY we love to share our enthusiasm surrounding trees and give out native tree seedlings! This is an excellent opportunity to support local wildlife with native flora AND offers a critical opportunity to inspire new planters, educate on the fascinating aspects of tree planting and care, build relationships with local residential planters and corporate partners, and enjoy new, native tree growth.
Each year we offer different species to ensure continued biodiversity. Typically, trees with longevity, those that are aesthetically pleasing, and which have the greatest potential to benefit wildlife are selected to ensure an even better future.
Spring 2026 Saplings:
Shumard Red Oak & Black Gum/Tupelo
Shumard oaks have gorgeous deep, red/orange autumn foliage, the largest among the red oaks, and grow the fastest of most any oak tree.
Black Gums (or Tupelo) also have gorgeous deep, red/orange autumn foliage, are a medium-sized tree, and generally slow growing; also no part of this plant is particular “gummy”
Purchase A Tree
Trees are ubiquitous- we want to keep it that way. Luckily trees are readily available as large caliper trees, small saplings, and as seeds at the store and on the ground. There are countless places to find and purchase trees for planting. We recommend several places to purchase quality trees you can enjoy for years to come.
